Back Injury
Back injuries are extremely common in almost every industry and at home. Anyone who has to perform manual labour is at risk for back injury. Lower back injuries are particularly common. While they may be hard to completely eliminate, many back injuries can be avoided with a little caution and a few preventative steps.
WorkSafe Saskatchewan and the Chiropractic Association of Saskatchewan have partnered with Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association to offer this back safety course in an effort to promote back safety as a way to prevent injuries in the construction industry.
This course is designed to provide workers with techniques to promote back care and safety. Participants will learn to understand the importance of back safety in their personal and professional lives. Throughout the presentation, learners will explore the anatomy of the back, common causes of back pain and injury, and most importantly, practical strategies for preventing back injuries and promoting back health.
Time to Complete: approximately 45 minutes
Prerequisite: Not applicable
Certification: A printable certificate will be available immediately upon successful completion of the course. A digital version will also be accessible through the participant’s e-Passport.
