Many organizations recognize the importance of psychological health and safety but aren’t sure where to begin. In this engaging and practical keynote, Jay Lamont cuts through the complexity, helping organizations move from good intentions to meaningful action without starting from scratch. Participants will leave with a clear understanding of psychological health and safety, renewed confidence and practical first steps they can take to create healthier, safer and more connected workplaces.

Born and raised in Yorkton, Riley completed the Occupational Health and Safety Practitioner program at Saskatchewan Polytechnic in Regina. He has worked in the safety profession for approximately 10 years, including four years with Harvest Meats.
Riley is passionate about creating safer workplaces and helping injured workers return to meaningful work as part of their recovery. He believes that providing appropriate return-to-work opportunities not only helps people heal faster, but also enables them to remain active and engaged in the workforce.
Outside of his professional career, he enjoys spending time with family, coaching his stepson’s baseball team, hunting and spending time at the lake whenever he can. Whether it’s on the ball diamond or out trying to catch the occasional walleye, Riley values the opportunity to stay active and enjoy the outdoors.
Auditing differently is the pilot initiative to explore a more field-focused and risk-based approach to auditing. The pilot prioritizes worksite observation, worker engagement and the verification of critical controls for serious hazards, using those insights to guide a deeper investigation of the organization’s safety management system. The goal is to provide more meaningful assurance, better learning opportunities and greater value for participating employers.
