Psychological health and safety community of practice

The WCB has established a psychological health and safety community of practice to support employers in their efforts to implement the CSA Z1003-13 standard for psychological health and safety in the workplace. The group meets each quarter virtually to discuss the standard, to share their journeys and experiences and to learn from their peers.

Firefighter Cancer Community of Practice

Firefighter cancer is one of the leading causes of workplace deaths in Saskatchewan with two to three fatalities each year. While all individual cases are unique, there are several actions that have been recommended by the medical community which have been proven to significantly reduce the risk of firefighter cancer.

To support the elimination of firefighter cancer related deaths in Saskatchewan, WCB and leadership from a variety of fire halls across the province launched this community of practice. The group meets virtually each quarter to share best practices and discuss common barriers to cancer prevention faced by the profession.
