2025 Safe Worker Award winner

Sandee Jordon, SaskEnergy
White City, Sask.

This year’s Safe Worker Award winner is Sandee Jordon, a customer service representative at SaskEnergy in White City. Over her 17-year career, Jordon, affectionately known as “Safety “Sandee”, has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to creating a safer workplace culture both inside and outside her organization.

Jordon’s passion for safety emerged early in her career while working in SaskEnergy’s South 1st Call centre, helping customers with safe digging practices. Inspired to do more, she joined the company’s occupational health committee, where she has been a driving force for change ever since.

Recognizing the importance of making safety engaging and memorable, Jordon helped lead the creation of fun and impactful safety videos, which are still talked about years later. Through her leadership, safety has become more than just a policy at SaskEnergy, it’s part of everyday culture.

Her influence extends beyond workplace walls. Stories of “Safety Sandee” have reached community events like Agribition, where people who have never met her recognize her by her reputation for promoting safety.

In addition to promoting physical safety, Jordon has been a strong advocate for mental health initiatives. She has helped organize annual events focused on employee well-being, inviting external experts to discuss topics like UN safety, distracted driving and mental health awareness. Her work ensures that safety at SaskEnergy is holistic, encompassing both physical and psychological health.

Jordon’s commitment to safety also extends to new employee onboarding, ensuring every new hire understands SaskEnergy’s safety values and is well-prepared to work safely from day one.

“Safety Sandee started as a fun nickname, but it became so much more,” Jordon says. “Life is so precious, and we cannot waste one minute of it. Working safely is something every person should do. I’m proud to help make that happen here.”
