HAZARD SOLUTION
Poor posture Adjust monitor, chair, desk and keyboard tray for proper posture. Learn more.
Static position Don’t stay in a static position. Stretch at least 90 minutes throughout the day. Print a reminder.
Cords beside and under chair Tuck, tape or tie cords away to avoid tripping.
Boxes on floor block exit Ensure all fire exits and escape routes are clear.
Open drawer Open drawers create bumping, tripping and tipping hazards. If you open it, shut it.
Heavy boxes on shelf Store heavier items at lower levels.
Unsecured items on shelf Secure items on shelves to keep them from falling.
Chair is broken Inspect your space regularly and keep furniture and equipment maintained.
Over filled garbage can Mess and litter cause trips and falls, can breed mold, attract insects and are a fire hazard. Inspect your workspace regularly and keep it neat.
Coffee beside extension cord Keep water and other liquids away from sources of electricity.

Electrical cord in pool Keep all electrical cords away from water.
Paddling pool Never leave children unattended near a pool. Empty water from wading pools after use. Even small amounts of water can be a drowning risk for pets and children. Wading pools breed mosquitoes.
Mom not wearing bike helmet Always wear a helmet when biking, boarding and skating to prevent brain injuries.All bikes need a bell or a horn. Bells are required on bikes in Saskatchewan. Mom wearing flip flops while cycling. Wearing proper footwear while doing any sport prevents slips, falls and other injuries.
Children playing where dad is mowing Mowers shoot out rocks and other debris. Keep everyone away from an operating lawnmower.
Toys on the lawn while dad is mowing Do a walkabout before mowing to clear the lawn of debris.
Dad mowing in flip flops and shorts Wear the proper footwear and clothing for the job. Flip flops won’t protect against high speed blades and debris.
Dad not wearing hearing protection and safety glasses while mowing Protect your senses when you used power tools.

Poor housekeeping – tripping and fire hazards Keep work site clean. Sweep and clean up as you work.
Improper lifting & ladder climbing Do not overreach and keep body centered between side rails of ladder. Keep 3 points of contact and face the ladder when climbing and descending.  Use proper lifting postures. Avoid twisting when reaching and lifting.
Worker on ladder has untied shoe Tie shoes and strings. Don’t wear dangly jewelry. Tie hair back.
Cords across work area & scissor lift, looped through rungs of ladder Place cords so they can not be pulled down or create tripping hazards.
Scissor lift gate not closed Keep all gates closed on scissor lifts.
Worker on scissor lift does not have personal fall arrest system Wear the appropriate approved personal protective equipment for your task.
Worker on scissor lift distracted by texting Maintain focus on your task.
Worker on scissor lift wearing hard hat incorrectly Wear approved personal protective equipment correctly.
Worker using saw is distracted Maintain focus on your task and do not distract others, especially when performing a dangerous task.
Saw is unguarded Ensure all machines and tools have proper guards and safety devices. Never remove guards or governors.

Scaffold is leaning and has no inspection tag. Erect and inspect scaffold as per proper requirements.
