Workplace Incident Investigation course
Participating in incident investigations is an important role of the occupational health committee (OHC) and the occupational health and safety (OHS) representative. This $10 course covers:
- understanding OHS requirements for investigating workplace incidents and dangerous occurrences
- collecting evidence
- analyzing evidence
- developing a report
- making improvements
This course takes two to four hours to complete. It was developed by the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety and is delivered in partnership with WorkSafe Saskatchewan. This course is for anyone who may be called upon to do an incident investigation, including managers, supervisors, safety personnel, OHCs and OHS representatives.
Completing this training AND the Workplace Inspection Training course is considered “training by an approved agency” for the purposes of Section 46(4) of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, 2020. Completing both of these courses is equivalent to completing WorkSafe Saskatchewan’s two-day Level 2 Occupational Health Committee course.
