Heavy construction and COVID-19 safety

The heavy construction industry continues to operate during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, all organizations must take the necessary precautions to minimize the risk of COVID-19.  This involves conducting proper hazard assessments on worksites and putting controls and procedures in place to mitigate the risk of exposure to the COVID-19 virus to workers and customers.  Incorporate this into your safety program.

While you may continue to operate, it is not necessarily business as usual. If you require assistance, reach out to your safety association for resources, information or assistance in navigating safety in your workplace and your safety program. (Information can be found below.)

Ensure that employees are self-monitoring. It is important they know the symptoms of COVID-19 and to act appropriately if symptoms are present.
